Presentation:  New IBC Office Occupant Load Factor - When and How to Use It

 At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Follow the history behind the creation of occupant load factors.
  • Understand the reasoning behind the changes in occupant load factors to business office uses.
  • Identify the specific uses where the concentrated business use occupant load factor is applicable.
  • Recognize the impact of the revised occupant load factors to occupant load, required egress width and number of exits. 

Guest Presenter: Warren D. Bonisch, P.E. - Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates

Warren Bonisch is a renowned expert in fire protection engineering, including fire & life safety analysis, egress design, performance based design and analysis, code consultation, fire protection design and analysis and related services for a wide range of structures and projects. In his career his experience has included participation in numerous design and consulting projects, leading project teams and managing projects. Mr. Bonisch is also recognized for his development of innovative solutions to code compliance issues. His experience includes both existing and new projects nationwide and globally.

Prior to joining WJE, Mr. Bonisch was Vice-President at Jensen Hughes, Inc. where he led project teams in various large scale projects located nationwide.  His experience spans 34 years in fire protection engineering, management and operations, including 31 years with Schirmer Engineering/Aon Fire Protection Engineering where he served in various roles including Senior Vice-President of the southwest United States.
