      <title>September Meeting: Underground Fire Suppression Rules by DFPC (September 10, 2026)</title>

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Description:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;font&gt;The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control’s (DFPC)&lt;/font&gt; &lt;a href="https://dfpc.colorado.gov/sections/fire-and-life-safety/fire-prevention-branch/suppression-systems"&gt;&lt;font color="#1155CC"&gt;Fire Suppression Program Rules&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/a&gt; &lt;font&gt;have served as the minimum regulations for all fire suppression systems installed in the state since 1991. All commercial and residential systems, except Multipurpose Systems, fall under these Program Rules. This course will cover the Program requirements for systems, systems installers (sprinkler fitters, underground fireline contractors and inspection/testing/maintenance technicians) and plan reviewers and fire inspectors conducting work on behalf of the DFPC. Case studies, best practices and industry experiences will also be discussed.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;span style=""&gt;&lt;font&gt;NFPA 24&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;font&gt;Standard for the Installation of Private Fire Service Mains and Their Appurtenances (edition referenced by current DFPC adopted version of the IFC)&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;DFPC Fire Suppression Program Rules (8 CCR 1507-11)&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Guest Presenters:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"&gt;&lt;span data-teams="true"&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Jaeger Luke and Morgan Matthew, Colorado Fire Protection Association&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;&lt;font&gt;Jaeger Luke is currently the Unit Chief of Professional Development at the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, along with being an Adjunct Instructor at the Community College of Aurora in the Construction Management Department.&amp;nbsp; He is a second-generation sprinkler fitter and a first-generation fire service member.&amp;nbsp; Before the fire service, Jaeger completed the Local 669 sprinkler apprenticeship training through Washtenaw Community College.&amp;nbsp; For almost 10 years, he worked as a sprinkler fitter and was fortunate to work on job sites around the world.&amp;nbsp; Jaeger currently holds&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;an MBA from Regis University in Project Leadership and Management.&amp;nbsp; He also holds an&amp;nbsp;&lt;font&gt;Executive Leadership Graduate Certificate from Regis University, along with a Public Sector Leadership certificate from Cornell University.&amp;nbsp; Jaeger also holds numerous certifications from accredited agencies like ICC and NICET.&amp;nbsp; Finally, he is in his first term as the president of the Colorado Fire Protection Association.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" style="font-size: 14px;"&gt;Morgan Matthew is a Fire Code Professional Development Officer at the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC). Prior to her current role, she worked as a fire inspector for the DFPC and Windsor Severance Fire Rescue. She has inspected occupancies ranging from DFPC Licensed Retail Fireworks stands and fixed high-hazard sites like Kodak Alaris to conducting NFPA 101 Life Safety Code healthcare facility surveys on behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a CMS Fire and Life Safety Code Inspector. In her current role, Morgan has taught over 800 people from public safety, the development industry and other stakeholders on topics like DFPC Programs (healthcare, fireworks and fire suppression), hazardous materials code enforcement and Colorado’s Mobile Food Vehicle regulations at the local, state and national level. She is also a Director on the Board of the Colorado Association of Permit Technicians (CAPT)&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
