  • This is the rate for SFPE-RMC "Full" and "Chapter" members to attend this meeting.
  • This registration type is for pre-paid "Chapter Friends" or "Chapter Members" who prepaid for all meetings with their membership payment for the year.
  • This is the rate for attendees who are not members of SFPE-RMC. [Note that membership in the Chapter is only $25 for the year ($15 for SFPE Society members). If you plan to attend more than one Chapter meeting, Chapter Membership pays for itself quickly!]
  • College-aged students who are currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree program, who are interested in the profession of Fire Protection Engineering.

Presentation: State of the Society, SFPE International 

SFPE's current President will visit our Chapter to update us on the state of the Society.

PRESENTER: JC Harrington, PE, FSFPE (FM Global)

JC Harrington, PE, FSFPE is an Assistant Vice President with FM Global working in the Engineering Standards Department in Norwood, MA. He is responsible for several of their fire hazards related standards, oversees risk service testing for their insurance clients, provides training on construction related subjects, and represents the company on building code issues. Earlier in his career he had worked for 10 years for Wang Laboratories as their Corporate Fire Protection/Safety/Environmental Manager. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and an MS in Engineering Management from Northeastern University. Harrington is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), and the International Code Council (ICC). He is a member of several NFPA technical committees including the NFPA 5000 Building Code. He served two terms on the NFPA Standards Council. He is a Past President of the New England Chapter- SFPE and has served multiple terms on the Board of Directors for SFPE International. He is a Fellow of SFPE and is a registered Fire Protection Engineer (PE) in the State of Massachusetts. Additionally, he holds a US patent on corrosion resistant duct nozzle fire protection.
